What does closing a store credit card do to your credit?

Two questions:
1) If I have a store card that I don’t really use anymore, what effect would closing that card have on my credit?

2) Stores always ask me to open a store card to save 15% and say I can close it later if I don’t want it. I always say no. Wouldn’t it negatively affect your credit score to be doing that all the time?

Can credit bureaus report late payments after a sheriff sale?

I had a foreclosure back in 1/07. My credit report shows the foreclosure; however, is reporting late payment after the sheriff sale. It shows the final date of 11/07. Is there anything I can do?

Credit….?

Does anyone know how to raise your credit score? For instance, if someone adds you to their credit account but you are not an authorized user… Basically looking to clean up credit?

Credit Report?

I am looking at my husband’s credit report and there are a few accounts in the negative section, but most of them are closed. Do these closed accounts still affect his credit, or does he still need to pay them off to get them completely off his report? Are they only their for history purposes?

Bankruptcy or choosing to default on credit card debt. What are the ramifications of each?

I have A LOT of credit card debt from opening a business and having to sell it in one year because of family responsibilities. Saw a bankruptcy attorney, but the options don’t seem to work for me as there’s no way I could ever pay off these debts.
I know it’s very immoral, but what will actually happen if I just stop paying on them? I know I’ll be inendated with phone calls and lose my good credit standing, but can they attach my bank account or any other asset?
