Credit Card & Loan Consolidation
How long does the negative information stay in your credit report after it has been paid?
I have a negative account on my credit report that is affecting me in a negative way. This was reported way back in 2001 and I paid the account in full in 2002 but the bank continued to report that it was unpaid till I recently disputed with them. They finally changed it from unpaid to paid after a charge off. I really want this information removed from my credit report since its so old. I have asked the credit buraus to remove this three times but they have not done it. What are my options at this point? Please tell me what I need to do to get this peace of information removed from my credit report. Thanks
How fast do credit card companies report changes?
I have paid down some balances already for some time but the changes are not appearing on my credit report. I’m not pulling up my credit however, I have alerts when my scores go up or down or if there’s inquiries etc. Do I have to ask them to report the change in balance? Why is it that when you rack up a ton of charges they report them really fast but when they’re paid off, they take forever? Is there a way to "speed up" the process?
Is it possible to remove credit inquiries from my credit report?
Over the course of about three months I went on a desperate auto loan shopping spree. I was trying incredibly hard to get approved under my own name with only a year worth of credit history because I have no willing/able co-signer.
I’ve recieved about 20 inquiries and my credit score dropped over 50 points from the original 730 I had, bringing me from excellent credit to between fair and poor.
Now I know that people usually say that you should stay away from "credit repair" agencies. However, I feel cheated to have these inquires draining on my credit report for the next two years when I’ve been responsible with my credit cards as I don’t have a single late payment and I usually pay off half my debt or more every 2 weeks.
Please advise.
Is this a valid way to remove a bankruptcy from your credit report?
I have heard this is a good way to remove a BK. See below. Has anyone tried this?
Unlike other negative information which stays on your credit report for 7 years, bankruptcy can be reported for up to 10 years.
Bankruptcy courts keep cases active for a period of two years before placing them on microfiche.
If your Chapter 7 bankruptcy has aged at least 27 months since the date of discharge, your in a great position to make it disappear forever, simply file disputes with the credit bureaus indicating that your bankruptcy was a Chapter 13 and not a Chapter 7.
You need not provide any documentation to support your dispute, the burden of proof is on the government.
Bankruptcy courts do not respond to requests for verification on cases which has been archived to microfiche, as a result the credit bureaus are required to remove the bankruptcy from your credit report.
How do I get someone off my credit report?
I recently ran my credit report, and was shocked to see that my mother (who shares the same name) and father have a bunch of their credit cards on my report. I have never had a am ex card, or chase card ever and they are on there with my parents names attached. I am not sure how this could have happened as they have never co signed for me for anything. Is it possible to get only my items on my report? How do I go about letting the creditors know that there are several errors on my report?
